L-Thyroxine-Berlin-Chemie tablets are indicated for the treatment of the following conditions:

• Hypothyroidism: a condition characterized by an underactive thyroid gland, leading to low levels of thyroid hormones in the body.
• Thyroid hormone replacement therapy: to replace or supplement thyroid hormone in patients with thyroid disorders, including after thyroid surgery or radioactive iodine therapy for thyroid cancer.

L-Thyroxine-Berlin-Chemie tablets should not be used in:

• Hypersensitivity to L-thyroxine or any of the other ingredients of the medication.
• Thyrotoxicosis (excessive thyroid hormone levels): L-thyroxine may exacerbate symptoms of hyperthyroidism.
• Acute myocardial infarction (heart attack): L-thyroxine should not be initiated during an acute heart attack.

Each L-Thyroxine-Berlin-Chemie tablet contains 100 micrograms (mcg) of L-thyroxine sodium as the active ingredient.

 

• The dosage of L-Thyroxine-Berlin-Chemie tablets is individualized based on the patient's age, weight, thyroid function tests, and response to treatment.
• The usual starting dose for adults with hypothyroidism is 25-50 mcg per day, with adjustments made in increments of 25-50 mcg every 4-6 weeks until the desired therapeutic effect is achieved.
• Tablets should be taken orally on an empty stomach, preferably in the morning, at least 30 minutes before breakfast or other medications.

• Palpitations
• Tremors
• Weight loss
• Nervousness or anxiety
• Insomnia
• Heat intolerance
